1970s
Paul M. Hebert, Jr. (‘70) was selected as “Lawyer of the Year” in the 2021 Edition of Best Lawyers for his practice of Family Law.
Van R. Mayhall, Jr. (‘71) was selected as “Lawyer of the Year” in the 2021 Edition of Best Lawyers for his practice of Corporate Law.
Dean Sutherland (’75), an adjunct professor at LSU Law, is serving as the 2020-2021 President of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel.
Leo C. Hamilton (‘77) was selected as “Lawyer of the Year” in the 2021 Edition of Best Lawyers for his practice of Administrative/Regulatory Law.
Jan M. Hayden (’79), a shareholder in Baker Donelson's financial services department, has been elected to a second term on the American College of Bankruptcy board of directors. Hayden has more than 40 years of experience handling bankruptcy and insolvency issues, concentrated in restructuring and creditors’ rights both in and out of bankruptcy proceedings.
1980s
Richard Arsenault (’80) recently conducted a Baylor Law School LLM webinar on the topic of Litigation Management. He will also be a guest lecturer at Baylor Law School this fall on a variety of complex litigation topics.
Stephen P. Strohschein (’81) has been named a partner at national law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson, operating from an office in New Orleans to expand into a new regional market and support the firm’s consumer financial services and bankruptcy and restructuring practice groups. Strohschein focuses on an array of commercial lending issues, including real estate, automotive floor plan finance, asset-based and small business lending.
Lillian Evans Richie (’81) has announced her retirement from the Second Circuit Court of Appeal, effective Aug. 1. Richie served the court for nearly 25 years, most recently as Clerk of Court and Judicial Administrator.
Harry J. "Skip" Philips Jr. (’83), former managing partner of Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips LLP in Baton Rouge, has been elected Louisiana Bar Foundation 2020-21 president.
1990s
Warner Delaune (’91) has joined Phelps as a partner and intellectual property advisor, helping clients secure the right IP protection for their needs and advance their competitive positions in the firm’s Baton Rouge office.
Henry “Bud” Ehrlich (’93) has joined business and entertainment law firm Shackelford, Bowen, McKinley & Norton LLP as a partner in the firm’s Houston office. His practice is focused on counseling clients on all aspects of portfolio development and management, as well as technology development agreements and licensing.
John Jerry Glas (’96) has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in North America. Glas is the Chair of the Civil Litigation Department at the law firm of Deutsch Kerrigan, LLP. He has tried 114 trials, including seventy-five jury trials and 39 judge trials, and has authored three book chapters for the series of books published by the American Bar Association under the title From The Trenches.
Thomas R. Temple (‘98) was selected as “Lawyer of the Year” in the 2021 Edition of Best Lawyers for his practice of Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions.
2000s
Scott Peebles (‘00), has joined the Dominguez Firm in Los Angeles as a partner. Peebles’ has20 years of experience as a prosecutor and plaintiff trial attorney. The Dominguez Firm is one of the most recognized and powerful personal injury law firms in California.
Van R. Mayhall III (’01) has been named general counsel and senior vice president at Investar Bank National Association, overseeing the legal and regulatory affairs for the bank as well as advising executive management and the board of directors on legal matters. Mayhall was formerly an attorney with Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson LLP for nearly 20 years.
David Joseph (’03) has been confirmed as a U.S. District Court Judge for the Western District of Louisiana. Joseph previously served as the assistant U.S. attorney in the Western District of Louisiana. Prior to joining the Department of Justice, he worked as a prosecutor in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, an attorney in the Professional Liability & Financial Crimes Section of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and as an associate in the law firms of Fulbright & Jaworski LLC and Kane, Russell, Coleman, & Logan, PC.
Lindsay F. Louapre (‘07), a member at Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand, & Brackett in New Orleans, has been selected for The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch 2021 for Workers’ Compensation Law-Employers.
Edward McAuliffe III (‘11), an associate at Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand, & Brackett in New Orleans, has been selected for The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch 2021 for Transportation Law.
Sally Brown Richardson (’09) has been named Tulane Law’s Vice Dean for Academic Affairs. Since starting her new position on July 1, Richardson, the A.D. Freeman Professor of Civil Law, has been the point person on the law school’s preparations to return students to the classroom in the new academic year. Richardson has been at Tulane Law eight years, was awarded tenure in 2018, and in 2019 she received the university’s highest teaching honor, the President’s Award for Excellence in Professional and Graduate Teaching.
2010s
Chris B. Prudhomme ('18), has joined Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett in New Orleans as an associate. His practice focuses on the defense of employers and insurance carriers for claims arising under the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act and War Hazards Compensation Act.
2020s
Daniel Bosch (’20) has joined the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center as its Advocacy Fellow, working in the administration, coaching and preparation of students for moot court, mock trial and alternative dispute resolution competitions. Bosch was the vice president of judicial relations for the LSU Law Board of Advocates and senior articles editor of the Journal of Energy Law and Resources. Bosch also holds a master in public administration and a bachelor's degree in political science, both from LSU.
