William Hibbler Cook, Jr. Scholarship

The William Hibbler Cook, Jr. Scholarship was established by the late Laura Ann Willis Cook in honor of her husband, the late William Hibbler Cook, Jr., a distinguished 1958 Law Center graduate and esteemed practitioner of mineral law in Shreveport for over fifty-five years.

Recipients of the Scholarship must be full-time students enrolled in the Law Center and focused on the study of mineral law. Recipients will be selected in accordance with LSU polices and approved by the Law Center Dean or designee, based on academic merit but also considering financial need. The Scholarship shall be held by one recipient at a time. The amount of the award will be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee, based on available spendable funds and the needs of the Law Center.

Recipients may retain the Scholarship for an additional year(s), provided funds are available and the recipient continues to meet the above eligibility requirements. The Scholarship shall terminate when the recipient receives the pursued law degree or if the recipient fails to remain enrolled fulltime (other than in the graduating semester), in good standing and making satisfactory academic progress, or if the recipient is placed on disciplinary probation.
