"The accessibility of the faculty really sticks out, both regarding class material and outside interests. Whether it was playing a round of golf with Professor Chris Pietruszkiewicz or talking college football with Professor Bill Corbett, I always felt at ease in my interactions with the faculty."

Jordan Faircloth

Class of 2008

LSU Law Student

Background: Received bachelor's degree in political science from LSU; played baseball for LSU, earning three letters as a pitcher, while being part of SEC championship and NCAA College World Series teams; staff writer for The Civilian for two years; member of the ABA National Appellate Advocacy moot court team for two years; class representative for second year, director of programming for the Student Bar Association during third year, coach of the Sports Arbitration Team.

Why Law School: I've always been attracted to the law and its intricacies. The proliferation of television shows, movies, and books involving the subject only heightened this interest.

Why LSU Law: I've always been "an LSU guy" in every sense of the word. Add to it the rapid advancements the Law Center has made and continues to make, as well as the bargain that are the tuition and fees, and the decision was an easy one.

The Faculty: The accessibility of the faculty really sticks out, both regarding class material and outside interests. Whether it was playing a round of golf with Professor Chris Pietruszkiewicz or talking college football with Professor Bill Corbett, I always felt at ease in my interactions with the faculty.

The Curriculum: The curriculum has something for everyone. Whether it's labor and employment or tax, the Law Center has something for just about everyone.

Future Goals: I am working for the Baton Rouge firm Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson in the areas of labor/employment and casualty. I hope to someday teach the Sports Law class at the Law Center. LSU has prepared me, not only mentally, but also psychologically and emotionally for the rigors and competitiveness of the working world. I take solace in the fact that, as an LSU Law graduate, I will be as prepared as anyone in the profession.

For Fun: REC Intramurals with a group of fellow classmates, the Aaron Neville All-Stars, were my primary source of fun while in school. As a sports enthusiast, playing intramural softball, flag football, basketball, and even dodge ball gave me plenty to do outside of the classroom.
