Students at LSU Law are trained rigorously in the same common law and federal law subjects that are taught at other leading American law schools. The curriculum prepares LSU Law students for practice or service in the state, national and global arenas.

Law school life can be stressful, so LSU Law has numerous opportunities for students to enjoy their time here, whether it’s being a part of Saturday nights in Death Valley or a summer abroad in Lyon, France. LSU Law welcomes and encourages meaningful student involvement as well as student and family fun. Join tiger tailgate parties, Family Days, academic pursuits or whatever suits your interest.

The LSU Law admissions office recruits and selects exceptionally academically qualified and broadly diverse students from a rich cross section of backgrounds, talents, experiences and perspectives. LSU Law students hold undergraduate degrees from universities throughout the country and many students originate outside of the United States.

There are several ways to finance your legal education. At LSU Law, we offer merit based scholarships and grants to first-year and upperclass students. Approximately one-third of our law students receive some form of scholarship assistance, and admitted first-year students are automatically considered for scholarship assistance.

Students are also able to apply for federally funded need based loans by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
